makeup tutorial // smoky lavender

Hello ladies, today I have a universal look for you. Purple is in my opinion the only real color color eyeshadow that works with every eye color, therefor I wanted to show you just one of many ways to wear it.

Products used:
Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow
Madison Street Beauty Eyeshadow in Cherry Blossom
MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet
Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Palette for Green Eyes
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Brown
CoverGirl Professional All-in-One Curved Brush Mascara in Black Brown

First, as always, you want to prime your lids.

Next, take a light pink shimmer shade and sweep it over your entire lid.

Take a smudger brush and a dark plum gel eyeliner and smudge it on your outer corner.

Next I used a brighter purple and applied it directly on top of the gel eyeliner.

Then, using a shimmery white shadow, I highlighted my inner corner.

With a brown pencil liner I lined my waterline and upper lash line.

I smudged out the lines with a deep brown shadow, giving it a smokier effect.

Lastly, I applied a coat of dark brown mascara and did my eyebrows.

Done! I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial and if you have any requests for future posts, leave them in a comment.

holiday makeup tutorial #1 // smoky purple

Guys, Christmas is 6 days away and I'm so full of holiday spirit it's bubbling out my ears. I constantly have some Christmas song stuck in my head and my youngest brother and I are doing somewhat of a bake-off tomorrow (we're talking sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies, double chocolate cookies, snicker doodles, and of course your classic chocolate chip). It's gonna be insanely fattening. Anywho, on with the tutorial!

I love a good smoky eye, don't you? And I love purple, so here's a nice purple-ish-smoky-eye tutorial. I think this look is perfect for a holiday party, it really makes the eyes POP :)

Products used:
Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Metallic Taupe
Madison Street Beauty Eyeshadow in Galaxy
Madison Street Beauty Eyeshadow in Stardust (check out this shop, the products are incredible everything's 60% off!)
Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire
Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner in Black
Covergirl Professional Super Thick Mascara in Black

Step1: Prime your eyelids.

Step 2: Pack a taupe-y/mauve-y cream eyeshadow on your lids.

Step 3: Smudge a dusty purple shade on your upper lid and lower lash line.

Step 4: Sweep a light matte brown into your crease to blend out the shadows and contour a bit.

Step 5: Highlight your inner corner and brow bone with a shimmery white shadow.

Step 6: Line your waterline with a black pencil liner. If you don't want your makeup looking too harsh you can skip this step, but it gives awesome definition to the eyes.

Step 7: Using liquid or gel liner, create a wing on your upper lash line.

Step 8: Coat your lashes with your favorite black mascara.

Step 9: Fill in your brows and set them. Having full brows is supah important when wearing smoky eyes, it really completes the look.

Done!
Another holiday tutorial coming soon, but in the meantime stay warm and give this one a try ;)

memories of spring // pop of color makeup tutorial

While fall is my favorite time of year, the crossover month between fall and winter is probably my least favorite. The trees are dead, the air is cold, and it's all-around pretty gloomy. Once you enter the holiday season however, things brighten up a bit. I listened to Christmas music all morning just to get in the mood. The "Elf" soundtrack? Probably my favorite. What do you do to get in the holiday spirit?

Anyway, this is a fun little makeup tutorial that has a pop of color that compliments pretty much any eye color. I wanted to make it because I was sick of all the dull colors outside :)

Products Used:

Step 1: Prime your eyes. I used a shimmery pink-ish cream shadow for this step.

Step 2: Pack a light shimmery pin shadow all over your lids. The pink tones warm up your eyes and complements every eye color!

Step 3: Apply a green shadow in your outer corner, crease, and lower lash line. (Blue-eyed girls, I suggest using a gray or blue shadow for this step!)

Step 4: Run a green eyeliner on your waterline. (Blue-eyed girls, use a blue or navy!)

Step 5: Apply black liner on the outer half of your top lash line, making the line slightly thicker at the outer edge. Then smudge it out.

Step 6: Coat your lashes with a few coats of black mascara.

Fill in your brows and you're done! As I said throughout the tutorial, you blue-eyed beauties may way to switch out the greens for gray and blue, but for everyone else just keep it the same.
Any tutorial requests? Leave them in a comment!

Happy Monday!

tea and flurries // bronze and gray makeup tutorial

This is a very simple eye makeup tutorial that is perfect for an everyday-look. It was inspired by cold gray days and the fallen leaves of autumn. Along with a nice warm cup of tea. Super cozy. Super cliche. Gotta love sweater-weather ;)

Products used:

Step 1: Prime your eyelids

Step 2: Pat a light shimmery shadow all over your lids.

Step 3: Pack a golden-peachy color on the outer half of your lid.

It should look like this so far.

Step 4: Smudge a copper color on the outer third of your upper lash line.

Step 5: Line your waterline with a charcoal gray liner, as well as your upper lash line.

 Boom.

Step 6: Apply two coats of black mascara to your upper lashes and one to your lower lashes.

Step 7: Fill in your eyebrows and sha-ZAM, you're done!
